Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis announced its ‘blueprints for electrification’, focusing on a dual electrification strategy. This new strategy means that all new vehicles from the brand will either be by EV or hydrogen fuel-cell EVs. By 2030, the company plans to be 100% zero-emission.
Genesis notes they will release at least eight new EV products by 2030. The company expects to reach 400,000 global sales per year by the same year.
Genesis known for its designs moved their presentation of the ‘blueprints for electrification’ to a chat on design. The new concepts include stage doors, mood lighting, and a new heating system inspired by Korean ‘Ondol’ heating.
The Genesis X concept vehicle will feature some of these features as per the announcement.. The company already announced the GV60, which is still in prototype. The GV60 is the first EV from the brand and built on the Hyundai E-GMP dedicated EV platform.
Hyundai is not done with announcements, with an upcoming ‘Global Forum’ on September 7; we may see more on Genesis or any of the other sub-brands.
