Ford updates Mustang Mach-E software with version 4.1.2 to give more functionality to the screen’s knob

Ford is now pushing a new software update to “power up” the Mustang Mach-E, which among other things adds more functionality to the in-car display’s physical knob.

Version 4.1.2 adds a bunch of improvements, including:

  • New user interface with SYNC 4A
  • Full-screen Apple CarPlay
  • New games
  • Physical controls for climate control and heated seats

The new physical controls will allow the knob to do double duty in the Mach-E. Previously the knob could only be used to adjust the audio volume, but now it can also allow the driver to select the temperature, fan speed or heated seats. While at the same time, the knob can easily control the volume and temperature of the fan speed.

Check out the tweet below, which includes a video on how the knob can do double duty, as well as a look at the new full almost full screen Apple CarPlay interface.

Ford is pushing the software update via over-the-air, so if you have a Mach-E, it should be on its way in the next little bit.

There is no word if a similar software update is on its way for the F-150 Lightning with SYNC 4A or other features.
