The rollout of Ford’s first all-electric vehicle, the Mach-E, has been a little bumpy. Originally hoping to begin deliveries in 2020, the automaker reportedly ended up handing over only 3 vehicles to customers before December 31st.
Things didn’t get better in the new year. In early January Ford emailed reservation holders telling them to expect a delay of up to two months to “conduct additional quality checks.”
According to another email sent earlier today and posted to the MachEClub forum, those still waiting for their delivery are now eligible to receive $1,000 and 250kWh of free charging.
The offer also applies to customers who have already taken delivery, so long as they contact Ford before September 1, 2021.
“Because we believe that customers should be treated like family, we are providing you a $1000 1 private offer on your Mustang Mach-E at time of delivery at your Ford dealership. Your dealer is aware of this unique offer. If you have already taken delivery, you can contact Ford at the number listed below to claim this offer. We are also providing you an additional 250 kWh3 of complimentary DC fast charging on us.”
Other members of the forum also reported receiving the same email, but with one big difference. The mention of a $1,000 payment was missing from the email sent to user COMache.
“Very interesting. I received the same email, but without the $1000 off – just the added charging. The $1k is literally edited out of the sentence.”
It is unclear at this time if the offer applies in Canada, however the email was signed by Andrew Frick, Vice President of Sales, US and Canada.
