2025 Lucid Gravity revealed: three row SUV with 708km range, starts under US$80K

Lucid Motors is setting its sights on the SUV market after officially unveiling the Lucid Gravity at the LA Auto Show this morning.

The Gravity SUV is not just a larger version of the Lucid Air, but a purpose-built electric SUV. According to CEO Peter Rawlinson, “The Gravity SUV represents a significant leap forward for Lucid’s world-leading technology and design. Customers will find an unprecedented combination of space and maneuverability, luxury, and versatility, all seamlessly integrated into one remarkable vehicle with the driving experience and range of a true Lucid.”

Like its sibling, the Lucid Air sedan, one of the standout features of the Gravity is its projected range of over 440 miles (708km). The exact size of the battery pack wasn’t revealed, but Lucid says the SUV achieves this impressive range figure with a battery pack “a little more than half the size of some of our battery-hungry competitors.” Also helping its efficiency is a target coefficient of drag of less than 0.243, making it one of the most aerodynamic three-row SUVs on the market.

The Lucid Gravity is also focused on providing a luxurious and technologically advanced interior. Lucid’s Clearview Cockpit features a 34-inch curved OLED display, and the SUV introduces Lucid’s next-generation software with over-the-air updates for continuous improvement. Inside, the cabin offers seating for up to seven adults, with second and third-row seats that fold flat to provide over 112 cubic feet of total usable cargo space.

Under the hood, the Gravity features the next generation of Lucid’s ultra-compact powertrain technology and a 900V electrical architecture. With a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the SUV can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.

The Lucid Gravity what the company calls “interactive wellbeing” features such as Lucid Sanctuary and Lucid Spaces.

“Lucid Sanctuary is a revolutionary set of experiences carefully designed to introduce tranquility on the go, whether you’re on the road or parked at a charging station. With Lucid Spaces, a single tap transforms the cabin into a serene oasis, immersing drivers in the soothing atmosphere of locations like Lake Tahoe or Joshua Tree. Lucid has also partnered with experts at Meditopia to offer a guided meditation experience that provides a personal space for mindfulness, without exiting the vehicle.”

Exact pricing wasn’t announced, nor what trims will be available, but Lucid did say the Gravity will start under US$80,000, positioning itself as a competitive option in the full-size premium SUV category. Production is set to begin in late 2024, and customers can already register their interest on Lucid’s official website.
