Tesla Model Y built at Giga Berlin spotted in Norway

Even though Tesla is still waiting to receive final approvals to officially begin production at Giga Berlin, the automaker has been building hundreds of Model Ys in preparation for opening day.

One of those cars has now made its way outside of Germany. A Model Y Performance with a Giga Berlin VIN was spotted today at the Rud/Oslo Service Center in Norway.

The German-made car was photographed by @TeslaAnders showing it as a Gigafactory Berlin license plate (M-GF), 21″ Uberturbine wheels and signature red brake calipers.

If there was any doubt as to whether this car was made in Germany, a close up photo of the VIN reveals it was the 100th car off the production line at Giga Berlin, and not imported from Giga Shanghai or Fremont.

The VIN begins with XP7, which is the designation for Tesla’s German-made cars (5YJ or 7SA is Fremont, LRW is Giga Shanghai).

This isn’t the only recent development to indicate Tesla is very prepared to begin ramping production as soon as it gets approval.

Yesterday a semi truck hauling a load of six Model Y Performance cars was spotted leaving Giga Berlin.
