Tesla further delays Standard Range Model Y deliveries in Canada

Tesla’s new Standard Range Model Y has been steadily arriving in Canada since last month. No deliveries have taken place, despite the cars piling up at local delivery centers and holding areas.

Customers across Canada were being told deliveries would begin on Monday, February 8. All signs were pointing to Tesla working to get the electric SUV to qualify for the $5,000 federal iZEV rebate as the reason for delay.

Now Drive Tesla has learned the automaker has pushed back deliveries yet again. According to several soon-to-be owners in Quebec, they have been notified to expect their cars on Friday, February 12 (h/t: Sébastien).

But that’s not all. When asked for the reason for the delay, the Sales Advisor said he couldn’t elaborate, only to say they will “be happy.”
