Tesla begins five-seater Model X deliveries in the US, but still no sign of refresh deliveries in Canada

After a hiatus of more than a year, Tesla has started deliveries of the refresh Model X in the five-seater configuration in the United States.

According to members of the Tesla Motors Club forum, at least two deliveries have taken place so far – one in Washington State and another in California. (h/t: @wang_made)

The five-seater configuration has just one row of seats behind the driver and passenger, leaving ample room in the rear cargo area compared to the 6 and 7 seat layouts also offered (but only on the Dual Motor variant).

Photos of the interior show the folding rear seats feature a 60/40 split with the larger section being on the driver’s side of the electric SUV.

One of the lucky new owners, forum member 209Driver, also noted that the rear seats do not feature wireless charging for mobile devices like the refresh Model S.

While the deliveries are good news for customers in the US, those with orders for the electric SUV in Canada are still being left out in the cold.

Tesla has yet to deliver any configuration or variant of the refresh Model X north of the border, and there is no sign of them starting any time soon.

Multiple reservation holders on the TMC forums have shared that based on information relayed to them from delivery advisors, they might have to wait until August until the first Model X units are shipped to Canada.

This is despite several test cars, including a Model X Plaid, having been spotted in Canada last year.

Tesla Model X Plaid now only available in 6 seat configuration, increasing base price in Canada and US
