Tesla Model S Plaid buyers can now pick between carbon fiber and wood interiors

Just over a week before the first deliveries are scheduled to begin, Tesla has made a small update to the Design Studio for the Model S Plaid.

Potential buyers in the US can now pick between having wood or carbon fiber accents in the interior (h/t @Abdulrahman_690). Interestingly, Canadians get no such choice, and can only order their Model S Plaid with the original carbon fiber interior.

Both choices are free, with the only costs coming with the choice between the black (standard) or white and cream ($2,600 CAD/$2,000 USD each) interiors.

After months of delays, the first Model S Plaid vehicles are scheduled to be delivered during a special event at the Fremont factory on June 3. CEO Elon Musk made the announcement on Twitter last week, after originally hoping to begin deliveries as early as February.

The Model S Plaid starts at $159,900 CAD ($119,990 USD) and will be the quickest accelerating production car on the market. Earlier this month it set a record for the fastest quarter-mile time of any production car crossing the line in just 9.23 seconds. We expect to see footage of that run soon on Jay Leno’s garage.
