It has taken a little longer than Tesla was expecting, but all signs are pointing to the first deliveries of the refresh Model S starting soon. A drone flyover of the Fremont factory show the production line has been busy pumping out a high number of the electric sedans.
Captured on a flight over the factory earlier today, Saturday May 15 2021, drone operator Gabeincal captured more than 200 refresh Model S vehicles in various areas of the factory. There were lines of them on the test track, and even more packed into an area alongside the rail yard.
Most importantly, there were several seen already loaded onto transport trucks ready to be hauled out, hopefully to be delivered to lucky new owners soon.
We can also see from the video that they have the yoke steering wheel, which got a new addition last week.
Earlier this week we shared with you the news that both Model S and Model X reservation holders were seeing new delivery dates appear in their accounts. While those waiting for the Model X are going to have to continue waiting, possibly until October, Model S buyers are seeing dates during the month of June.

Drive Tesla also reported exclusively the Model S Plaid had set a new record for the fastest quarter-mile time of any production car. That was followed just days later by more Plaid test vehicles spotted at Laguna Seca attempting to set record lap times.
Making that news even more exciting was the fact one of the vehicles had an all-new aero wing built into the trunk lid.
You can check out the full drone flyover below, including lots and lots of Model Y castings.
