Tesla Model 3 deliveries with AMD Ryzen processor have started in Canada [Update]

Tesla introduced a brand new AMD Ryzen processor with the launch of the Model Y Performance in China.

Just a few weeks later the first cars built at the Fremont factory in California were spotted with the new processor, 12V Li-Ion battery and more.

Now the first Model 3 cars with some of the latest updates have arrived in Canada, but so far only on the west coast.

On Friday, January 28 TMC user BunnyTiger took delivery of a Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) with the AMD Ryzen processor in Langley, British Columbia.

Then on Saturday SeanyJ also took delivery of a RWD variant with the upgraded computer in Richmond, B.C.

Neither new owner reported that their rear doors featured double pane acoustic glass, but we can assume they have the Li-ion battery as that is required for the new processor.

We have also received a separate report from one of our readers Sean of a Model 3 Performance being delivered today in Vancouver with the AMD processor.

So far it appears as though the new features haven’t made their way east of B.C., or been included on any Model Y deliveries in Canada yet.

UPDATE Jan 31 1:19pm PST: Looks like they have made it outside of BC, and not only in Model 3s. One of our readers just picked up a new Model Y in Vaughan, Ontario with the Ryzen processor.

The new processor makes the in-car entertainment much smoother and faster than the previous Intel Atom chips.

Speed tests have shown the user experience of opening and browsing apps like YouTube and Netflix are significantly improved.

It also has enough processing power to rival home gaming platform like the PS5, but no games have been released to take advantage of the specs. Elon Musk says they are still working on bringing Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 and hoping to release them in Q1 2022.
