Tesla unveiled the Cyberquad alongside the Cybertruck in November 2019. Since then not much has been heard or seen about the electric ATV other than a brief appearance in a Travis Scott music video and a miniature version being released by Hot Wheels.
Now nearly two years after it was first revealed, the Cyberquad has come back to life with a new trademark application.
According to the details of the application posted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the trademark application was filed on September 23, 2021. Tesla is applying for the trademark to apply to apparel, specifically “t-shirts, shirts, jackets; hats; infant wear; footwear; pants.”
The current status of the application is that it has been accepted by the USPTO but has not yet been assigned to an examiner for review and approval, which is not expected to take place for another 6 months.
Tesla has already filed a Cyberquad trademark application in November 2019 that applies to “all terrain vehicles; land vehicles; electric vehicles; and structural parts therefor.”
While this latest trademark application doesn’t guarantee the Cyberquad will eventually be available for sale, it is a good sign that Tesla still intends to bring it to market.
When it was unveiled in 2019, Musk said the electric ATV would be an optional accessory for the Cybertruck. During the live event a Tesla employee rode the Cyberquad onto the stage and drove it up the built-in Cybertruck ramp and into the Cybertruck Vault.
