Tesla has since updated their website to reflect this.Nissan electric vehicle (EV) owners in Canada and the United States now have access to Tesla’s expansive Supercharger network. With this agreement, more than 17,800 Tesla Superchargers across North America will now be available to Nissan Ariya drivers, as Nissan’s only other EV, the iconic Leaf model, is excluded from the Supercharger rollout.
Nissan is one of the many automakers that have signed a deal with Tesla to adopt their North American Charging Standard (NACS) technology, announcing their partnership in July 2023. Earlier this year Ford was the first automaker to officially get access to the Supercharger network, followed by Rivian and General Motors soon after.
The rollout to other automakers has been slower than expected, but last month Volvo and Polestar also gained access to the Supercharger network. Tesla’s website said next in line were Nissan and Mercedes-Benz, and today Nissan joined the list of automakers with access to the Supercharger network.
Despite Nissan now having access, there is still no word from the Japanese automaker on the availability of NACS adapters. Last month Nissan announced the impending launch of NACS adapters for Ariya owners, saying they would be available “later this year.” However, there is still no information when they will be available, or if they will be provided for free, leaving the door open for Ariya EV owners to use a third-party NACS adapters to plug in at Superchargers.

By 2025, Nissan plans to integrate NACS ports directly into its EVs for seamless charging access without the need for adapters.
Nissan has also introduced the Nissan Energy Charge Network, designed to simplify charging for EV owners via the MyNISSAN app. The network aggregates over 20,000 public chargers in Canada and more than 90,000 in the US, leveraging partnerships with charging providers like ChargeHub, Shell Recharge, and now Tesla. Through the app, drivers can locate charging stations, check real-time availability, initiate charging sessions, and handle payments with ease.
