Tesla adds new planned Supercharger locations across Canada

For the first time in a long time, Tesla has updated their map of planned Supercharger locations, and there have been a number of additions across Canada.

Tesla used to update their Supercharger map, which contains both locations that are already open and those that Tesla plans to build in the future, every quarter. However for close to a year the map has remained fairly stagnant, only receiving updates when a new station opens, or after Supercharger voting.

That changed this week, with a substantial update of planned locations, many of which were in Canada.

British Columbia appears to be the winner with the most new locations added in this update. Vancouver Island is receiving a new Supercharger in Sidney in 2024, while in the lower mainland new stations will be built in downtown Vancouver (x2), Richmond, Langley, and Abbotsford.

In the interior of the province a new station will be built in 2024 in Keremeos. New pins have also been added for Whistler and Manning Park, although we have already told you about both of those stations.

Heading east, Alberta gets just one new Supercharger, in Kananaskis, just a short drive away from the two existing Supercharger stations in Canmore.

Saskatchewan gets another Supercharger in Swift Current, but unfortunately Manitoba was shut out of this round of updates.

Surprisingly, Ontario and Quebec appear to only have one new station added in each province, in Bowmanville and Saint-Germain-de-Grantham. However Quebec has received a number of new planned stations in the last few months thanks to Supercharger voting.

In good news for Atlantic Canada, two new stations will be built this year in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Truro, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately Newfoundland and Labrador continues to be left out, with the only planned Supercharger on the island in St. Johns, which was added in a recent round of Supercharger voting.
