Rivian started deliveries in Canada late last year, but so far has only catered to customers in British Columbia from its base in Vancouver. However that is going to change soon as the automaker is preparing for a significant expansion across Canada as it gets ready to deliver the R1T and R1S to customers in Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec in early 2024.
To support this growth Rivian has been actively hiring staff for new service centers in Alberta, Ontario since early September, and more recently Quebec for positions such as Delivery Experience Specialist, Vehicle Operations Specialist, and Title and Registration Specialist. According to company spokesperson Miranda Jimenez, Rivian is expecting to employ “a few dozen” employees at each of these new locations, located in Calgary, Montreal, and Vaughan. Additionally, Rivian plans to establish an on-site office for its Ontario customer support teams in the Toronto suburb of Vaughan, enhancing the brand’s local presence and ensuring that customers have easy access to support.

All of this hiring and the ongoing construction and renovation work to complete their new Service Centers will culminate with the company planning to start vehicle deliveries in Ontario and Alberta in the very early part of 2024, while Quebec is expected to follow towards the end of the first quarter.
The Rivian Service Center in Calgary is located in the Eastlake Industrial Park at 4398 112 Ave SE, about 20 minutes south of downtown Calgary. In Vaughan the Service Center will be located at 8311 Weston Rd. Although Rivian does not disclose specific Canadian sales figures, it recently reported delivering 15,564 vehicles in the third quarter. According to estimates from the Automotive News Research and Data Center in Detroit, Rivian delivered around 100 vehicles in Canada during the same period, evenly split between its R1T pickup and R1S SUV models.
