Lucid Grand Touring ‘P’ teased ahead of tomorrow’s launch [Update]

Lucid Group looks like they are preparing to add a new variant to their lineup of Lucid Air electric sedans.

In a short video posted to the automaker’s Twitter account this morning, Lucid teased a new ‘Grand Touring P’ edition, saying we will get all the details tomorrow at 9:00am EST.

Going by their previous breakdown of the Dream Edition into two variants, the ‘P’ stands for Performance.

According to their online configurator, the Grand Touring variant comes with up to 800 horsepower and a 0-60mph time of just 3.0 seconds, and starts at $189,000 CAD/$139,000 USD.

Those figures are not that far behind the Air Dream Edition, which boasts up to 1,111 horsepower and can reach 60mph in as little as 2.5 seconds for $229,000 CAD/$169,000 USD.

With improved specs, the Grand Touring P should come close to the Dream Edition Range, which has 933 horsepower.

UPDATE 3:40pm PST: Jeff Curry, Lucid’s VP Marketing, revealed on Twitter the Grand Touring P will have over 1,000 horsepower.

If they follow the same formula, the ‘P’ variant will not cost more, and reservation holders will be contacted to see if they want to update their order.

Stay tuned to Drive Tesla and will bring you all the details when Lucid announces them tomorrow morning.
