Ford has taken the unusual step of reducing prices across almost the entire lineup for its upcoming electric Mach-E weeks before the first deliveries are scheduled to begin.
The automaker’s first venture into electrification, the Mach-E was announced to much fanfare last year. Ford has revealed new information and updates about the Mach-E since then, like higher than expected charging speeds.
Now with just weeks to go before the car arrives at dealerships across the US, the automaker has notified reservation holders of new pricing for their existing orders.
The details of the changes, posted to the Mach-E Club forum, show that prices have dropped by as much as $3,000 for the Premium RWD and AWD versions. The CA Route 1 RWD version has seen its price reduced by $2,000, while the Select and First Edition’s are now $1,000 cheaper.
In the documentation, Ford notes the prices are being adjusted “to remain fully competitive in a segment that is seeing dynamic price changes.”
All of the price changes announced so far are for US customers. Drive Tesla has reached out to Ford Canada for clarification on any price changes for Canadian customers, and will update this story if we get a response.
Ford has been road testing the new Mach-E in Canada, with several having been spotted in Ontario recently. Canadians prices for the Mustang Mach-E are in the range of $50,495CDN for the lowest ‘Select’ model, to $71,995CDN for the now sold-out 1st Edition.
