Tesla has begun preparations to enter the Vietnamese market, opening five full-time positions covering sales, service, human resources, purchasing and charging infrastructure following the registration of its local subsidiary.
According to Tesla’s official Asia Pacific careers portal, the automaker is recruiting a Sales Manager, Service Manager, HR Business Partner, Purchasing Manager and Project Developer for Charging, all based in Vietnam.
The hiring plans were shared Wednesday by Tesla’s Asia Pacific recruiter Ricky Ip, who announced on X, “Tesla is officially coming to Vietnam – and we’re hiring.”
The positions suggest Tesla is building the local management structure needed to establish vehicle sales, customer support and charging operations in the country.
The Sales Manager will report directly to the Country Manager, overseeing sales performance, vehicle deliveries and teams operating across retail and delivery locations.
Meanwhile, the Service Manager will be responsible for developing Tesla’s service team and managing daily operations, establishing another important part of its local customer support network.
Tesla is also recruiting a Project Developer for Charging, responsible for identifying potential sites, negotiating agreements with property owners and assessing utility connections and permitting requirements.
The remaining positions, an HR Business Partner and a Purchasing Manager, cover employee relations, building the local team and supplier management, including purchasing activities across Tesla’s wider Asia Pacific operations.
The hiring follows Tesla’s registration of Tesla Motors Vietnam Limited Liability Company in Ho Chi Minh City on September 11, 2026, with charter capital of 77.667 billion dong, approximately US$3 million (C$4.2 million).
The company’s registered business activities include vehicle sales, parts distribution, imports and exports, although no manufacturing or assembly operations have been announced.
Tesla will also face an established domestic competitor in VinFast. Vietnamese vehicle sales reached 48,484 units in August, with VinFast accounting for 20,161 vehicles, or 42 percent of the market (via TechNode Global).
Tesla has not announced an official launch date, vehicle lineup, pricing or locations for its first showrooms, service centres and charging stations in Vietnam.
