Tesla has released a new update for FSD V14 Lite, continuing to narrow the feature gap between Hardware 3 (HW3/AI3) and newer Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4) vehicles.
While a new update has now been released, version 2026.20.6.10 is still limited to a select few in the Early Access Program. It adds several user interface and usability improvements that have until now been exclusive to the full V14 experience on AI4 vehicles that hopefully means a broader deployment is just around the corner.
More than bug fixes
The initial V14 Lite release three weesk ago focused on driving improvements such as better navigation decisions, smoother steering, parking capabilities, and new Arrival Options, this latest update refines the overall user experience.
Among the biggest additions in this latest update is the ability to start FSD directly from Park without first pressing the brake pedal when Brake Confirm is disabled. Instead, drivers can simply tap the new Start Self-Driving button on the touchscreen and the vehicle will engage FSD, just like in AI4 vehicles.
Tesla has also introduced the dedicated Self-Driving app, giving drivers quicker access to FSD settings and controls.
The update also adds Self-Driving Streaks, a new feature recently introduced on V14 designed to track uninterrupted FSD drives, although not everyone appreciates the sentiment.
Other improvements include an upgraded interface when approaching a destination, making Arrival Options easier to access, along with new visual indicators in the mobile app showing when FSD is active.
Most still waiting
Despite two V14 Lite releases now reaching Early Access users, Tesla has yet to begin a broader rollout in Canada or the U.S.
With this latest release, V14 Lite is quickly closing the gap with the full V14 experience on HW4 vehicles. If Early Access users continue to report a stable, bug-free experience, Tesla could be ready to expand the rollout to all HW3 owners within the next week or two.
