SpaceX to reach $137 billion after raising $750 million in investment

It is incredible how far SpaceX has come in the space industry. However, the company is still conducting investment rounds. The latest is spearheaded by Andreessen Horowitz. It will target $750 million for a total valuation of $137 billion, as reported by CNBC.

Apart from Andreessen Horowitz, other investors in SpaceX include Founders Fund, Sequoia, Gigafund, etc. Andreessen Horowitz also invested in Elon Musk’s Twitter buyout.

SpaceX is one of NASA’s high-profile contractors, with agreements to launch multiple missions in place. The space agency has also paid for multiple missions for SpaceX’s next-gen Starship spacecraft. It is a completely reusable rocket that Musk hopes will take volunteers to colonize Mars.

SpaceX had a massive year in 2022. It recorded 61 launches in a single year using the Falcon 9 rocket.

The company attracted more than $2 billion in investment in 2022. A July round raised $250 million, while SpaceX attained a valuation of $127 billion last May.

However, NASA’s administrator Bill Nelson has expressed concerns that the Twitter acquisition will distract Musk from his role at SpaceX. The Starship a critical component of NASA’s mission to resume sending astronauts to the moon.

NASA is currently considering enlisting SpaceX’s help in rescuing astronauts stranded on the International Space Station after Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft developed a leak.
