Tesla offering free 3 month SiriusXM subscription after implementing new user interface

More than two months ago Tesla included some SiriusXM user interface (UI) updates in the release notes of the 2020.24.6.4 software update, but the improvements never actually made it into Model S and Model X vehicles equipped with the satellite radio service.

Now Tesla has finally turned the new UI on, and started offering a free 3-month subscription to let owners try it out.

According to information from resident Tesla hacker @greentheonly, the automaker turned the feature on over the weekend and began sending out the following email to those owners impacted by the change.

Sirius Tesla emailSiriusXM provides a great alternative to Tesla’s Premium Connectivity option, which brings streaming music to those owners who pay the monthly fee.

What makes SiriusXM different is it doesn’t require an internet connection, and works on a satellite connection, meaning it should be more reliable in remote areas.

Let us know in the comments below if you have the new feature in Canada, and if you’ve signed up for the free 3-month SiriusXM subscription.
