Tesla owners in and around Ottawa now have two locations to choose from as their new Service Center in Nepean is now open.
Drive Tesla was first to report on the new location in January when we learned the automaker was going to take over the former Myers Barrhaven Nissan dealership.
The doors to the new location opened on Saturday with a soft opening. Renovations to the building have mostly been completed with temporary Tesla logos adorning the front facade. A grand opening is scheduled for sometime in April.
Located at 530 Motor Works Avenue, the site has two large connected buildings. The nearly 11,000 square foot building at the front houses the showroom, offices, a customer lounge, and parts storage area.
The second 7,400 square foot building at the rear is the new service area with 10 vehicles lifts.
Making this location unique are two drive-thru service lanes where customers can arrive with no appointments for small service items to be addressed.
Even though it has only been open one day, there were already more than 25 Tesla vehicles on the lot waiting for delivery, including several Standard Range Model Y’s.
The existing Tesla Ottawa location at 845 Carling Avenue will remain open for now. Tesla leases the property, but the property will be redeveloped in the near future into two high-rise buildings.
This is just one of many new Tesla locations to open in Canada. A new location opened in Saskatoon in January, and B.C got its second Service Center in Surrey last month. Another location in Richmond, B.C. will also be opening soon.
