Tesla opens long-awaited 24-stall Supercharger in Brampton [Ontario]

After more than a year of waiting, Tesla has officially opened its 24-stall Supercharger station at Trinity Common Mall in Brampton, Ontario. The new Supercharger was set to be the largest in the country when it was first discovered, but due to the long wait it has since been surpassed by newer, larger installations.

Tesla first filed plans for the Brampton Supercharger in May 2023. At the time it was going to be the largest in the country, tied with Hope, B.C., at 24-stalls each. Construction started a little less than a year later in March 2024, and was completed fairly quickly. But then the long wait began, along with several other Superchargers in Ontario that were waiting for activation, allowing it to be surpassed by other stations, like Mississauga (32 stalls) and Richmond (40 stalls).

After more than a year, the site was finally energized this week. Located at 210 Great Lakes Drive, the Brampton Supercharger is in a quieter section of the Trinity Commons Mall parking lot near the Rogers store, and features a square layout with one pull-in stall among the 24 V3 chargers capable of delivering up to 250kW of power.

The rates at the new Supercharger vary depending on the time of day, ranging from $0.25/kWh for Tesla owners and $0.32/kWh for non-Tesla owners during off-peak hours. During peak hours of 12:00pm to 8:00pm, rates increase to $0.55/kWh for Tesla owners or $0.70/kWh for non-Tesla owners.

The Brampton station is the second Tesla Supercharger in the city. The first, located roughly 8 km away at the Canadian Tire on 2850 Queen Street East, features just 12 stalls. With the new Trinity Common location now operational, Tesla drivers in the region can enjoy greater access to charging infrastructure—something that has been in high demand as EV adoption accelerates across the Greater Toronto Area.
