Tesla launches ‘Upgrades’ tab in Canada, in-car purchases coming soon [Update]

Tesla has finally added the ‘Upgrades’ tab to vehicles in Canada on Tuesday, paving the way for owners to purchase add-ons directly through their vehicle.

The feature was first launched in the US in November, and most recently in Europe earlier this month. Now the feature has landed in Canada, including on vehicles that are currently enrolled in the Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta program.

The tab appeared this morning without a software update, however the first time you get in to your car your screen may do a quick 2-3 second reset. (h/t: Richard B)

On our vehicles the tab is currently empty as we have both Premium Connectivity and Acceleration Boost, the two features which you can currently purchase in the United States. European owners can currently only purchase Premium Connectivity.

UPDATE 9:58am PST: Premium Connectivity is now appearing as an option to purchase. If you are on a free trial subscription, the option to purchase will still appear (like below), but will only begin once your trial has ended.

We have however checked with several other owners in Canada that do not have these upgrades and their tab is also still empty, so Tesla may still be rolling out full functionality to the fleet.

Let us know in the comments below or reach out to us at tips@driveteslacanada.ca if you have any upgrades to purchase appearing on your tab.
