More than one month after expanding the Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta program to Canada, Tesla has increased the price of the FSD Capability option north of the border.
According to an update to the Design Studio on Thursday evening, the price of the optional feature has increased $2,200 from $10,600 to $12,800. (h/t: @aamiirv)
The price increase is a little later than expected. When Tesla first released FSD Beta in the United States in October 2020 Elon Musk also increased the price of the FSD Capability a little more than one week later.
At the time Musk said that a similar price increase would take place one week after the expansion of FSD Beta to a new market. Musk was usually quiet about any potential price increase following the expansion to Canada, but Tesla has now followed through.
The price of FSD Capability has remained the same in the US at $12,000.
UPDATE 10:32pm PST: It appears as though existing reservation holders can still add FSD Capability for $10,600, as seen in this screenshot of our Model Y reservation.
