Spy shots reveal refresh Taycan and GT Model

The Porsche Taycan has been out since late 2019, and in the almost three years since then the design has remained largely unchanged.

However that looks like it is going to change soon as spy shots reveal the automaker is preparing to release a refresh Taycan, along with a GT model set to take on the Tesla Model S Plaid.

Porsche Taycan GT

It is no secret that Porsche is working on a new tri-motor Taycan that will rival the Tesla Model S Plaid. We now have our first look at the new model thanks to photos taken in Germany by Motor One and Auto Express.

While concealing some features with black tape, the photos suggest Porsche is making the Taycan GT more aerodynamically efficient with several new features around the car.

The front fascia has been redesigned and you might notice a splitter underneath the nose. Porsche covered some elements on the outer edges, pointing out the areas where significant redesigns have occurred.

The Taycan sedan is outfitted with a big sensor on the roof, which may have to do with autonomous driving.

Keeping it planted on the road is a set of five spoke wheels with big yellow calipers and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The back has received attention as well. There is a minor spoiler on the wagon and diffuser vanes below the bumper.

Also spotted this week was a more subtle Taycan. According to a source that spoke with Drive Tesla, this Taycan is a mid-cycle refresh that will be launched and delivered next year.

As with the GT model, the front bumper of the refresh Taycan is covered in black tape pointing to a redesing of that area. Similar maskings can be seen on the rear bumper.
