Last week, we reported that a Tesla Cybertruck sold at auction for $244,000. While the auction raised lots of attention, Porsche South Orlando didn’t want it for their personal collection, with it now up for sale on the dealership’s website.
The Cybertruck is a Foundation Series All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which has a list price price, if you are lucky enough to be able to order one, of $99,990, a $20,000 premium above regular pricing. After buying it at auction for $244,000, Porsche South Orlando is looking to make a small profit, listing it for sale for $289,999.
According to the listing on their website, the Cybertruck is being advertised as a “Recent Arrival! CARFAX One-Owner. Clean CARFAX. 2024 TESLA CYBERTRUCK FOUNDATION.” (via CybertruckOwnersClub)
After it was confirmed that the Cybertruck was being bought by a Porsche dealer, speculation flew around as to the purpose of its purchase, with some even going as far as suggesting Porsche wanted to do a tear-down of the battery-powered pickup truck.
However, it is now clear that the Cybertruck is being shopped around for a new owner willing to pay almost $300,000, or nearly triple the selling price. This is despite Tesla’s stance against early buyers flipping the truck for some quick cash. However, since Porsche South Orlando didn’t buy directly from Tesla, it does not have to worry about the threat of a lawsuit embedded in the company’s purchase agreement.
The Cybertruck may not become a collector item, but there is no doubting its appeal as a handful of celebrities have been spotted driving around town in one.
