Milton MP announces investment in EV Chargers

Milton MP Adam von Koeverden announced a $2,3 million investment to Anvil Crawler Development Corporation. The investment is to install 35 EV chargers across Ontario. The announcement was made on behalf of the Minister of National Resources. The push to a new-zero future is a key part of the Government of Canada’s EV strategy.

The $2.3 million is part of a broader $6.7 million investment, including Anvil Crawler, Opus One Solutions, SWTCH, Energy+ inc, and Elexicon Energy.

In addition, the chargers will be operational by September 30, 2022.

These chargers will join the over 6,000 publicly accessible charging stations across Canada. Moreover, the current planned number of chargers is well over 17,000 with investments in charging infrastructure.

Part of the Government push has been to invest in infrastructure and incentivize EV purchases. Since 2015, the Government of Canada has invested over $1 billion in fast-charging infrastructure across the country. In addition, the Government also provides incentives of up to $5,000 to buy EVs and other full tax write-offs for businesses who purchase EVs.
