How to order myQ Smart Garage Control Hub for just $0.99 [Canada & US]

One of the new features in Tesla’s 2022 holiday update was support for Chamberlain myQ garage door openers. One of the catches (other than the subscription) was that if you didn’t already own a myQ garage door opener, you would have to purchase a separate myQ Smart Garage Control Hub that would turn your compatible opener into a smart device.

The regular price of this hub is $69.99 CAD, but thanks to a somewhat hidden promotion from Chamberlain, Tesla owners in Canada and the US can get it for free, and you only have to pay $0.99 for handling.

This promotion is only available from within your car. First tap on Controls > Locks > myQ Connected Garage, and then the Link Account button. Then scan the QR code that appears on your screen. To avoid the QR code being abused by non-Tesla owners we have blurred it out in the image below.

The QR code will then take you to a special page on the Chamberlain website where it says you can order the myQ Smart Garage Control hub for free and all you have to pay is $0.99 for handling. This link does not appear when you navigate to this page on the Chamberlain website, where instead it simply states to “follow the step-by-step instructions from your Tesla center touchscreen.”

You might notice that there is one caveat that states it is only free “with your purchase of the myQ Connected Garage subscription,” however this does not appear to be the case as we were able to order it without having a subscription, or even signing up for a Chamberlain account. This was also confirmed by one of our readers Tommy who alerted us to this deal.

This hub will of course only work with myQ compatible openers. Fortunately Chamberlain provides an online tool you can use to see if your garage door opener is on their compatibility list. You can check that out here.

There was no mention on the website that we could find to say when this promotion would end, so we suggest ordering very soon if you are interested just in case it sells out.

Let us know in the comments below if you are also able to order the myQ Smart Garage Control Hub for just $0.99.
