FLO mobile app gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support

FLO has announced today its mobile app is now available on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing electric vehicle (EV) owners to start their charging session from within their car.

One of the biggest advantages of Tesla’s Supercharger network is its ease of use where owners can simply pull up and plug in, without the need for entering payment details or initiating the charging session. Now owners of other EVs are getting closer to that experience with FLO adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

According to the company’s website, FLO users can find nearby stations, filter stations by charging speed, fee, plug type, or availability through the in-car display on vehicles that have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto pre-installed.

Once you find the charging station you want to visit and have plugged in, you can now also initiate the charging session from within your car.

FLO was founded in 2009 and is based in Quebec. Since then the company has become one of the leading charging solution providers and has signed a number of significant deals.

Last year FLO announced it had been chosen to supply up to 40,000 EV chargers as part of GM Dealer Community Charging Program. It also has stayed close to home, partnering with Hydro-Québec, owners of the Electric Circuit EV charging network, to deploy 7,500 Level 2 EV chargers throughout the province.
