Musk is the first non-entertainment host on the acclaimed show since JJ Watt from the Arizona Coyotes hosted last year. Naturally, SNL hosting duties come with some scrutinizing, but with Musk, it could be intense.
The SpaceX Chief Designer has long been open about his opinions, and sometimes to his detriment. During the last year, Musk has faced heat about talking about Tesla stock price and COVID-19 lockdowns. So, having Musk as SNL host could certainly turn some heads.
The last high-profile guest appearance that Musk had ended up with a stock fall for Tesla. Musk joined Joe Rogan on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast last year. Musk and Rogan talked about heir love of weed and both smoked a joint live on the podcast.
Although Musk will not be lighting up on SNL, it certainly provides the outspoken CEO a colossal platform to speak.
