ElectraMeccanica makes first Solo EV deliveries

Vancouver-based ElectraMeccanica has made their first commercial deliveries of their flagship Solo EV to four different commercial clients.

At the event held in Los Angeles recently, the company delivered the first of their fleet Solo EVs.

Four commercial clients received their first vehicles; they include Skechers USA, Faction Technology, Cyber Yogurt and Ruby’s Diner.

As production starts to ramp up in their Chinese facility, the company continues to deliver a small number of vehicles to validate, market and advertise their cars.

The company has a retail footprint in 10 major markets across five states in the western United States.

Naturally, as the Solo EV is still in a pseudo pre-production stage, the company is looking to improve and expand pre-orders as production ramps up.

In addition, the company is building its new US Assembly Plant in Mesa, Arizona to keep up with production. The facility, which includes an engineering shop, will be ready in the summer of 2022.

According to the company, the assembly plant will assemble up to 20,000 vehicles per year.

ElectraMeccanica has both a consumer model and a fleet model Solo EV. The company is still in the pre-order phase, and interested customers can still pre-order in the United States and Canada.
