Cisco bringing Webex to Ford’s EVs

Thanks to Cisco, you will soon be able to take Webex calls from your brand new Ford electric vehicle (EV).

The new Webex capability will allow for asynchronous video messaging capabilities, new mobile features and support for Apple AirPlay.

This partnership between Cisco and Ford is the first of its kind. The announcement came at the Enterprise Connect conference in Orlando this week.

As per the announcement, the partnership will allow people to make their Ford vehicles a personal office.

Webex utilizes the new 15.5-inch screen and entertainment system inside the car.

Users will be able to use the browser experience with Webex.

As well, they will soon have access to a Webex app designed specifically for use in Ford vehicles.

Finally, the company will also introduce AirPlay connectivity to allow you to share content or share your screen from your iPhone, iPad or Mac.

The new initiative comes as Cisco looks to support the new hybrid work normal.

The norm is no longer in the office five days a week, which means having the ability to take calls from anywhere is certainly an attractive one.
