Watch a Tesla Model S go head to head against a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo

Many have tried before, and many have failed to beat Tesla’s flagship Model S on a race track. Whether it’s a straight line drag race, or if there are some twisties in there for good measure too, the Tesla usually comes out on top. The latest throwdown comes from the BBC, who pitted a Model S against a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo over a short 0-62mph race.

The Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo features a V10 delivers over 600bph, and weighs in at 2,800lbs. Oh, and a hefty price tag too at nearly $500,000CDN. We all know the Model S P100D in Ludicrous mode. It weighs in at more than twice the weight of the Lambo at 4,941lbs, but a much more palatable price tag starting at $135,090CDN.

To make things more interesting, the Lamborghini was driven by Jonny Barden, a professional racing instructor. The Tesla was driven by a…BBC’s Click tech show host, Lara Lewington, someone with no particular enhanced driving training.
