The first shipment of Tesla vehicles bound for Israel should arrive this week, marking the start of Tesla’s expansion into the Middle Eastern country.
After setting sail from the U.S. earlier this year, the cars are first scheduled to stop in Portugal. From there they will be loaded onto a new ship, the Grand Mediterraneo, which should arrive in Israel by Saturday, February 28 reports The Globes.
According to sources familiar with the shipment, 70 Tesla vehicles will arrive on that day. A second shipment of 50 cars will arrive in March.
Most of them are Model 3’s made in Fremont, all of which have already been sold after Tesla began taking orders earlier this month.
The Standard Range Plus (SR+) Model 3 starts at 334,990 NIS ($66,000 CAD). The Long Range (LR) Model 3 is priced at 199,990 NIS ($77,700 CAD), while the top of the line Performance Model 3 is available for 219,990 NIS ($85,500 CAD).
Tesla’s Design Studio says the first deliveries will begin in March.
