Tesla’s much anticipated Gigfactory 3 in China is appearing one step closer to completion as leaked pictures are emerging on Chinese social media showing Model 3 bodies going down the production line, likely in a testing phase.
The Gigafactory 3 will be a huge boost for Tesla production, as it aims to take a big piece of the EV pie in the largest market in the world. Tesla’s timelines indicate that Gigafactory 3 should start production by mid-October, and ramp-up to produce over 3,000 vehicles per week by year end. But many in the auto industry doubt that Tesla can hold up this ambitious timeline.
But then again, not many believed Tesla could build this factory in less than a year, and they’ve been able to do just that.
