Does 2019.36.2.1 really add more power to your Tesla Model 3?

With the latest software update, 2019.36.2.1, Tesla claims the Model 3 has received a power increase of 5%. Now we have a video putting two Model 3’s against each other to see if the claim is true.

In a video by Jenny Walsh on YouTube, the put two Tesla Model 3’s against each other, one with the updated power increase (white) and one without (red). Unlike some other tests (*cough*Top Gear*cough*), both cars were at the same state of charge (SOC) at the time of the races. Other steps taken to ensure the race was as equal as it could be – tires on both vehicles were at the same pressure and both had their windows down (drag).

The owners of these two vehicles had raced each other on previous occasions and the races had always been very close. But the video below shows the white Tesla Model 3 clearly winning all 3 races.

Have you received the latest update with the power increase? Have you noticed a difference? Let us know in the comments below.
