The weeks or months of anticipation are over, and you’ve finally got your brand new (or new to you) Tesla Model 3 at home. Once you’re done starting at it to make sure it’s actually real, here is a list of the top accessories recommended by Tesla in Canada to both protect your investment and get the most out of your Tesla. Or like many, you can buy these before your Tesla arrives, and have them ready for when it does.
Screen Protector
The signature feature of the interior of the Tesla Model 3 is the gorgeous 15″ touchscreen. While you might think you wouldn’t need a screen protector because it’s not going in your pocket, there are two others reasons you will want one – glare and fingerprints.
The solution to often blinding glare that makes the screen un-viewable is a matte screen protector, and the best is the Elon Accessories Matte Screen Protector. It is a little pricey at $69.99 compared to non-matte screen protectors, but it really does a great job at eliminating glare and fingerprints.
If you don’t want to spend that much on a matte version, we recommend the Yee-Pin screen protector, available on Amazon for $19.99.
USB Storage Device for TeslaCam and Sentry Mode
Another great feature on a Tesla Model 3 is Sentry Mode, which records video around your car when it detects movement, and TeslaCam, which is Tesla’s version of a built-in dashcam. To be able to use either feature, you need a USB storage device.
With a recent software update, the size of the USB is no longer as important, as older clips are overwritten when space is needed. For quality video and the best longevity, the only option is a Solid-State Drive (SSD) as it is better at handling the constant writing on the drive. The best value for money is the Samsung T5 500GB SSD, which retails for anywhere between $104.99 and $129.99 on Amazon.
If you would prefer a traditional USB stick, the best option is the SanDisk Ultra Flair 128GB flash drive. The reason it’s best is because it comes pre-formatted in FAT32, which is the formatting required for TeslaCam and Sentry Mode to work. Not only that, but it’s a much more reasonable price of $25.50 (on sale, regular $29.90) on Amazon.
Mud Flaps
A must-have for Canadian owners is a good set of mud flaps. Tesla recently came out with their own mud flap/splash guards with their All-Weather Protection Kit, but it is only for the front wheels, and the installation leaves some question marks about how effective they’ll actually be.
If you want to skip the OEM mud flaps, which we recommend you do even though they’re free (not available to BC Tesla owners), these BougeRV mud flaps are a great alternative. They’re cheap, easy to install, and offer great protection for all 4 wheels. They’re just $27.48 on Amazon. Click here to buy your set.
Center Console Wrap
While the piano black finish on the center console in the Model 3 is nice to look at, it is a dust/dirt/fingerprint magnet. It can also be easily scratched.
A good way to customize the interior of your Model 3, while also adding protection is to do a center console wrap. There are number out there to select from, but the one with the easiest install is the kit from Nikola Pro. Available in a variety of finishes, it sells for just $19 USD on the Nikola Pro website. You can use this link and a 10% discount will be automatically applied, good for anything in their store.

Center Console Organizer
A pet peeve of many new Tesla Model 3 owners is there is no convenient place to store your sunglasses. A cheap and easy solution to this problem is to get an organizer tray for your center console.
This Canadian made center console from Teslashop.ca is a great choice at an affordable price. It is coated in premium flock material to blend in with the Model 3’s interior; looking as if it came with the car. With it you can store your sunglasses, spare change (perfect for loonies and toonies), and other various items you may find in your pockets.
At $17.99, with free express shipping across Canada, it is a cheap and easy way to add more utility to your center console. Plus use the coupon code TIC10 at checkout and you’ll get 10% off your entire order, bringing the price down to just $16.19.
Wireless Phone Charger
The Model 3 used to come with USB cables to charge your phones in the vehicle. Then in early 2019 they discontinued the charging cables, leaving you to find your own. But if you have a phone capable of wireless charging, like most newer Android phone and Apple’s iPhone 8 and above, a wireless charger is a must have.
This wireless charger also from Teslashop.ca is made of premium TPE anti-slip material which helps keep your phone from sliding around, while matching well with the finishes of the Model 3 interior. It is compatible with any Qi enabled smartphone, like most newer Android phone and Apple’s iPhone 8 and above.
The regular price is $59.99, with free express shipping across Canada. Plus use the coupon code TIC10 at checkout and you’ll get 10% off your entire order, bringing the price down to just $53.99.
Performance Pedal Covers
One of the first purchases I made after buying my Standard Range Model 3 was some aftermarket performance pedal covers. You can read more about them in our review here, but it’s safe to say that this is a cheap modification that really adds a lot of value and looks to your Model 3.
There are a number of choices out there, but we think the best value for money is this set that you can purchase off Amazon from BougeRV.
All-Weather Floor Mats
Depending on which Model 3 version you bought, you car may not come with floor mats, and if it does, they’re carpet floor mats, not the best for Canadian winters. The best option for all-weather floor mats that can withstand harsh Canadian winter are TuxMat floor mats.
The TuxMats are Canadian made, and have the best coverage of any all-weather floor mat on the market today. Available in black, they are 100% waterproof which means easy cleaning when they get wet or dirty, especially from snow. They are priced at $248.50 on Amazon, but the quality is top-notch and you get what you pay for. Plus shipping is free and you’re supporting a Canadian business.
If you’re on a bit of a tighter budget, another great Canadian option are the High Performance Mats now available at Teslashop.ca. The mats feature anti-slip materials to ensure they always stay in place, a heel pad to prevent wear and tear, and the honeycomb design combined with high edges to contain any liquid to the mats only.
They are priced at $79.99, with free express shipping across Canada. You can also use the coupon code TIC10 at checkout to get 10% off your order, bringing the price down to just $71.99.
Most importantly, enjoy your new Tesla. If this is your first electric vehicle, you will find it hard to go back to an ICE vehicle. You’ll also want to talk about it and show it to anyone and everyone who will listen. Don’t worry, it’s a known side-effect of owning a Tesla, and perfectly normal.
