Boulder City police go electric with new Tesla

Police departments around the world are embracing zero-emission vehicles. Boulder City police have joined the trend, as reported by Fox 5.

Earlier this year, Austria’s Bludenz police department added a Hyundai IONIQ 5 to its patrol fleet.

The police department unveiled new EVs, including some Teslas. This is so the city could cut down on fossil fuel consumption.

Funding for the EV purchase was from American Rescue Plan Act.

Boulder City said the switch made sense for more than just caring for the environment.

The standard patrol cars had an almost 12-month waiting period for similar costs.

Other departments have adopted Tesla patrol cars with satisfactory reports. Bridgewater Police in Nova Scotia reported their Tesla patrol cars are performing better than expected

Leewood police in the US is expecting significant savings from its new Model Y patrol car.
