During the Tesla 2022 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla Cybertruck’s prices and specs will likely change.

However, Musk also noted that the price change would probably be worth it.

In terms of an exact quote, here is what Musk said:

Cybertruck pricing, it was unveiled in 2019, and the reservation was $99. A lot has changed since then, so the specs and the pricing will be different. I hate to give sort of a little bit of bad news. But I think there’s no way to sort of anticipate the inflation that we’ve seen and the various issues.

Initially in 2019, the Cybertruck was going to be available in three trims with varying prices.

  • The Single-Motor RWD was $39,900 before options.
  • The Dual-Motor AWD was $49,900 before options
  • While the Tri-Motor AWD was $69,900 before options.

As well, the specs on the Cybertruck were impressive at the time, including:

  • 250+, 300+, and 500+ miles of range
  • 3500 lbs payload
  • Towing rating between 7.5k to 14k lbs
  • 250 kW charging
  • Off-road performance
  • 100 cubic feet of exterior storage
  • 110v/220v onboard outlets
  • Full Self-Driving features (optional)
  • Autopilot as standard

However, we have not seen updated specs or pricing since that original 2019 launch.

Musk also said this during the meeting about the Cybertruck:

But what I can say is that the Cybertruck will be one hell of a product. It’s gonna be like a damn fine machine.

We know that the Cybertruck design was finalized in June, and the truck is on track for production out of Giga, Texas, in mid-2023.

Everything else is pure guesswork at the moment!
