Tesla has finally announced a date for the Cybertruck delivery event. After posting their Q3 2023 shareholder deck Tesla revealed the first Cybertrucks will be handed over to lucky customers on November 30 at Giga Texas.
The Cybertruck was first revealed to the world on November 21, 2019, with its unique and futuristic design shocking many fans and investors. The Cybertruck was originally targeted to begin production in late 2021. Amidst a global pandemic and supply chain shortages, that date was later pushed back to begin sometime in 2022, and then again to 2023.
After several delays production began at Giga Texas earlier this year, and in recent weeks and months there has been a substantial increase both in the number of Cybertrucks rolling out of Giga Texas, as well as sighting of test vehicles on public roads.
As of the last update from CEO Elon Musk, he was hoping to hold the delivery event before the end of Q3, but that date passed without an update from Tesla, even though they started allowing owners to redeem referral credits for an invitation.
Now after a nearly four year wait Tesla has announced the Cybertruck delivery event will take place on November 30, 2023, at Giga Texas.

The big pieces still missing from the Cybertruck equation are the final specs and pricing. When it was first announced it was supposed to come in three variants. The entry-level was single motor for $39,990 that could get 250 miles (402km) on a single charge. Then there was a dual motor for $49,990 with 300 miles (483km) of range, and a tri-motor for $69,990 with 500 miles (804km) of range.
Based on what we have seen from the test vehicles, it looks like Tesla will first launch the dual motor configuration, with a tri-motor Performance version to come later. And with the recent price cuts to the Model Y in the US in which the Long Range now start at $48,490, it is very possible the dual-motor Cybertruck could be priced in the mid-$50K range.
