General Motors has started shipments of the much-anticipated Chevrolet Blazer EV. The first Blazer EV, an RS all-wheel drive trim, started its journey Monday from GM’s manufacturing facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, to dealers across the country. However, customers might be surprised by the starting price, which is higher than initially estimated.
When the Blazer EV was revealed in July 2022, the base trim was anticipated to start at US$44,995. However, the official pricing revealed today for the trims released this year is higher than expected.
The 2LT all-wheel drive trim starts at US$56,715, while the RS all-wheel drive (AWD) trim starts at US$60,215, and the RS rear-wheel drive trim begins at US$61,790. No official pricing has been announced for Canada, but last year the starting price was estimated to range from C$51,998 for the 1LT up to C$80,998 for the SS.
UPDATE: Here is the Canadian pricing, and like the US, is higher than what GM was expecting last year.

Customers who opt for the 2024 Blazer EV may also be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to US$7,500, GM says.
The Blazer EV will be offered in three trims: the RS, LT, and high-performance SS. The RS rear-wheel drive version and the 2LT all-wheel drive trims are set to debut this fall. Next year, the entry-level option will be the 2LT front-wheel drive. GM has also revealed plans for a Police Pursuit Vehicle scheduled for an early 2024 release. However, the launch of the SS trim has been pushed back to spring 2024, with more details on drivetrain configurations expected closer to the launch dates.
The SS trim will mark Chevy’s first electric performance model, boasting up to 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque. In WOW (Wide Open Watts) mode, it can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds.
