Fisker has finally started delivering its highly anticipated Fisker Ocean electric SUV to United States customers.
The first batch of 22 units of the Ocean One were delivered at Fisker’s Los Angeles facility earlier today. The units arrived stateside from Fisker’s Magna Steyr manufacturing facility in Austria earlier in the month.
In celebration of the deliveries stateside, Fisker had this to say in a statement:
We’re grateful our customers have been patient with us as we dealt with a longer-than-expected certification period earlier this year, and we’re happy their patience is now starting to be rewarded.
Fisker has confirmed that deliveries will continue throughout the summer to fulfil the current backlog of 65,000 units in the US. While deliveries have already started in Europe, the first deliveries happened last month.
Although they have over 65,000 customers waiting, Fisker expects to produce between 32,000 and 36,000 units in 2023 to help cut down that waiting list. Fisker hopes to ramp up production over Q2 with the goal of 6.000 units per month by Fall.
