Hyundai has revealed its latest offering, Hyundai Home, at the LA Auto Show. The product will give Hyundai EV owners a new way to charge at home.
Hyundai Home lets EV owners generate and store their own energy through solar panels and batteries for energy storage. The automaker is collaborating with Electrum, which installs solar panels, home batteries, and heat pumps for domestic use in the US.

Customers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington are the first in line to get Hyundai Home.
Hyundai’s network of dealers in those states will oversee the service, with help from Electrum.
Ian Tupper, senior group manager of strategic environmental partnerships at Hyundai, told TechCrunch, “With Hyundai Home, we’re really trying to democratize, not only EV charging and being able to adopt an electric vehicle, but the entire ecosystem around it. We want to make it easy for customers to go solar to get energy storage and to eventually use all those systems together to reduce their energy bill.”
There are no details yet about the pricing of Hyundai Home.
Hyundai leads in taking advantage of Canada’s federal zero-emission vehicle incentive program (iZEV).
