Watch a Performance Tesla Model 3 take on a $247,000 Ferrari Portofino

Everyone loves putting the Performance version of the Tesla Model 3 (and Model S and Model X) up against the fastest gasoline powered cars to see just who is the king of the dragstrip.

Often times those races aren’t exactly a fair apples to apples comparison. Such is the case with the latest battle, but it’s still fun to see how the Tesla performs against a Ferrari that is more than three times the price.

The race was put on by Italian motorcyclist Andrea Pirillo, and featured the two cars going head to head on a foggy race track in Italy.

The Portofino is a two door GT (grand touring) sports car than can reach 60mph in 3.1 seconds. It does so thanks to a twin-turbo V8 pumping out close to 600 horsepower, all through the rear wheels (RWD).

The Performance Model 3 on the other hand is a 4 door family sedan that can reach 60mph in 3.2 seconds. It has dual all-electric motors giving power to all four wheels (AWD).

Both cars had the same Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on, with apparently about the same amount of wear. Check out the full video below to see who comes out on top.
