Tesla shows off 4680 battery pack assembly in new video

Now that Tesla has started customer deliveries of the all-new Model Y All-Wheel Drive (AWD) equipped with 4680 cells, the automaker has shared a new video on how they put their revolutionary new structural battery pack together.

The video was shared by Tobias Marmann, a Recruitment Leader at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, although it appears to have been filmed at Gigafactory Texas.

In the video we see the completed cells coming off the manufacturing line and heading to the area of the factory where they are placed into the pack. There a large robot arranges the cells six across before placing them gently into the structural pack.

From there the cells are covered with the top half of the pack to seal them in and then taken off the line.

The whole process appears to go smoothly, although it looks like Tesla was still ironing out the kinks at the time the video was taken. Towards the end of the video we can see what appears to be one of the cells placed in the pack upside down.
