Ford Mustang Mach-E joins New York City yellow taxi fleet

We have already seen lots of Tesla Model 3s join New York City’s fleet of iconic yellow taxis. As more operators look to save money on fuel and maintenance and switch to electric, one of them has decided to go with the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

A Mach-E in the signature bright yellow vinyl wrap was spotted this week by Amanda Stevens charging up in an underground parking lot in NYC.

The electric SUV looked ready to take fares with all the necessary signage and decals on the vehicle.

We don’t know which variant this Mach-E is, but the top-of-the-line can travel for 305 miles (490km) on a full charge, more than enough range for driving around NYC.

Visitors and residents of the city are becoming more accustomed to seeing electric taxis. The first Tesla Model 3 joined the NYC taxi fleet in November 2020, followed by many more in the following months.

Private companies are also getting in on the trend. Revel and Gravity both launched a fleets of Model Y taxis last year.
