Several Co-Op gas stations have joined forces to open a network of electric vehicle (EV) chargers in southern Saskatchewan.
Late last year the first two locations of the Co-Op Connect EV charger network opened in Maple Creek and Swift Current. According to Co-Op’s website, four more locations are now open in Whitewood, two in Regina, and another in Moose Jaw.
The stations feature both CCS and CHAdeMo connectors and provide charging speeds of up to 100kW. Trying to make the charging experience like filling up your car with gas, simply plug in your desired connector, choose your payment option, enter a phone number to receive a receipt via text message (optional), and confirm your charging cost.
Costs are charged based on the length of time connected, and vary by location. Idle fees may apply if you stay plugged in for more than 10 minutes after your charging sessions ends.
More stations are planned for neighbouring Alberta and Manitoba, which are scheduled to come online later this year.
