There are probably one or two website administrators feeling a little foolish after they accidentally revealed the specifications of the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicle (EV).
The mistake happened on the Austrian version of Hyundai’s website, where it revealed the First Edition Ioniq 5 will only be available to 150 customers for €1,000 ($1,568 CAD).
That wasn’t the only information that was leaked before the pre-order page was quickly taken down. The Ioniq 5 will have an estimated range of 450km on the WLTP standard, which is always generous when compared to the North American EPA standard.
When it comes to performance the AWD Ioniq 5 will reach 100km/h in a respectable 5.2 seconds. Hooking it up to a DC fast charger will get you from 20% to 80% in 15 minutes thanks to 800V technology.
Dimension of the EV were also revealed, as seen in the image below captured by The Korean Car Blog.
Just about the only thing that wasn’t revealed was what it is going to look like. Its design will be based off the Hyundai 45 concept vehicle pictured above.
We’ll learn more about the Ioniq 5 early next year when Hyundai is expected to hold an official reveal. It is scheduled to be delivered to the first customers in mid-2021.
