Tesla has reached another milestone, this time in Africa. Last week, the company officially began delivering vehicles in Morocco, marking its first customer deliveries on the continent.
Tesla officially launched in Morocco on February 6 with an event at Anfaplace Mall in Casablanca. The company used the event to introduce local customers to the Model 3 and Model Y, explain home charging and ownership, and outline its broader mission and plans for the market.

Tesla had already spent several years preparing for the launch. The company opened its first African Supercharger stations in Casablanca and Tangier in 2021, later expanding the network to six locations across Morocco.
Those early owners had to personally import their vehicles into the country. Preparing for its official launch, the automaker created Tesla Morocco in May 2025. The local subsidiary was established to oversee vehicle imports, distribution and servicing, while also supporting the expansion of Tesla’s charging and energy businesses in the country.
Morocco was a logical first African market for Tesla. The country has a growing automotive industry, improving EV infrastructure and significant investment in renewable energy. Its location also gives Tesla a potential base for future growth in North Africa and other nearby markets.
For now, Tesla’s Moroccan lineup includes the Model 3 and Model Y. . Earlier this month, the company added the Performance variant of both the Model 3 and Model Y to the country’s lineup.
