Toyota and Subaru EVs Gain Access to Tesla’s Supercharger Network

Subaru and Toyota have both announced that their electric vehicles (EVs) will now be able to charge at select Tesla Supercharger stations across North America.

Subaru confirmed that all Solterra EV owners can now access more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers in Canada and the U.S. through the SubaruConnect app. The 2026 Solterra is equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing it to plug directly into Tesla’s network.

The new model also introduces “Plug & Charge” functionality, enabling the vehicle to automatically begin charging when connected to a compatible station.

Owners of 2023–2025 Solterra models will soon be able to purchase a Subaru NACS adapter through Subaru dealers, allowing them to also take advantage of the Supercharger network. Subaru says it will contact owners once the adapter becomes available.

Through the SubaruConnect app, Solterra drivers can also locate nearby chargers, set up payment methods, and manage charging sessions.

Toyota made a similar announcement for its 2026 Toyota bZ lineup, which arrives at dealerships later this month. The company didn’t provide any photos of the bZ plugged in at a Supercharger, instead highlighting how the new model gains improved range, better performance, and the ability to use the Supercharger Network with a native NACS port.

Toyota drivers can locate compatible stations and initiate charging through the Toyota app, which integrates payment setup and management via the new Wallet feature.

All 2026 Toyota bZ will also support Plug & Charge capability, simplifying the process even further.

Owners of 2023–2025 Toyota bZ4X models will receive a complimentary NACS adapter starting in November. These adapters will also be available through Toyota dealerships, although pricing was not announced.
